The Tianjin Municipal Government recently promulgated the "Tianjin Green Building Management Regulations." From May 1st onwards, new buildings such as schools, hospitals, and security houses will implement green building standards, while encouraging existing building renovation and industrial buildings to implement green building standards.
According to the regulations, Tianjin Municipal Government will build new government-funded state agencies, schools, hospitals, museums, science and technology museums, gymnasiums and other buildings, affordable housing, demonstrative small towns, and airports, stations, and hotels with a single building area of more than 20,000 square meters. Large-scale public buildings such as restaurants, shopping malls and office buildings should implement green building standards. Other civil buildings implement green building standards. Encourage the government to invest in construction and large-scale public buildings to implement green building standards above two stars. Encourage existing building renovations and industrial buildings to implement green building standards.
During the operation of green buildings, facilities and equipment such as energy-saving and water-saving facilities shall operate normally, complete management systems, and automatic monitoring systems for heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, lighting and other equipment shall be operated normally and the records shall be complete. The exhaust gas, sewage, and other pollutants generated during the operation are discharged up to the standard, and the household garbage is classified and collected, and the garbage collection container is standardized.
It is understood that last year, Tianjin City built 29 million square meters of green buildings and 43 projects received green building evaluation marks. Among them, 25 were high-star and 4 projects won the Green Building Innovation Award. Up to now, Tianjin has completed more than 80 million square meters of green building projects and projects under construction. More than 300 projects have been awarded national green building design evaluation marks, and 29 projects have won national green building innovation awards. This year, the city will continue to practice the concept of green development, accelerate the research and development of green building technologies, and promote the application of renewable energy. In the next five years, 300 projects will be promoted to obtain green building evaluation marks.
